Hello, beauts! If you remember the last entry, then you’ll recall that I’ve tried everything I can to find out what really happened between Joe and Demi’s relationship—and a little bit about their breakup. I’m trying to stay focused on what happened during their relationship, but the more I dig, the more I discover. Some of the new information requires context to fully understand the nature of their relationship.
The more I dig into the events that occurred in 2008 and beyond, the more the pieces of the puzzle start to fit together. Please bear with me as I retell the story of Joe and Demi—I’ve found additional information in between. This entry was initially supposed to focus on Joe and Demi, but there’s another complex timeline I couldn’t ignore. The more I thought about it, the more it kept me itching to find out about Joe’s other relationships. I wanted to explore those relationships to understand how he behaves as a boyfriend. I do plan to do the same for Demi, but for now, let’s talk about Joe Jonas as a boyfriend.
Let me catch you up on what we’ve learned about their relationship. Demi met the Jonas Brothers on the set of JONAS, but it wasn’t until they starred in Camp Rock that sparks really started to fly between them. Everyone could see that they were attracted to each other, but publicly, nothing seemed to happen. However, at the time, Demi called Joe a “player,” which inspired her song Gonna Get Caught. That comment and song suggest that Joe was flirting with other girls, and it hurt Demi. I wish Joe would tell us what really happened—it would give us better context for why Demi reacted the way she did.

Joe Jonas cheated on Taylor Swift with Camilla Belle?
Before I go forward, I’d like to point out that while some articles claim Joe and Demi got together in November, that timeline doesn’t quite add up. If that were true, then why would Taylor go after Joe and Camilla? If the relationship had already ended and they’d gone their separate ways, why would Taylor claim in her song that Camilla “stole” Joe? Seeing your ex with someone new is hard, but not usually to the point of publicly bashing his new girlfriend.
Anyway, that relationship didn’t work out, since Joe was dating Taylor—and Demi even said that Joe wasn’t her first choice. Taylor and Joe dated from July to October 2008, but I just realized that Joe and Camilla dated from September 2008 to 2009. I know I’ve been trying to keep this Jemi-focused, but that overlap is too significant to ignore.

July August September October November December
Taylor Taylor Taylor Taylor
Camilla Camilla Camilla Camilla
According to this timeline, Joe Jonas cheated on Taylor with Camilla—what the… how did I not see this before? I’m mind-blown! Seriously, how did I miss this? Now I’m starting to think—could this be the reason he doesn’t want to be publicly seen with anyone? I know people can speculate, but this seems way too obvious.

Speaking of cheating—when Joe was with Camilla, they reportedly broke up in July 2009. I wanted to dig even deeper to find out when this was confirmed, and it turns out it was officially reported on July 27, 2009. Trust me, that date is important—but let’s go through this page first. Let’s focus on the information involving Joe, Camilla, and Taylor.
The song “Much Better” is widely suspected to be about how Camilla was a much better girlfriend than Taylor. Given the lyrics, it’s not far-fetched. Listen to the song yourself and come to your own conclusion. Most of the lyrics in “Much Better” are pretty generic, but there’s one line that made people think it’s about Taylor:
“ Now I’m done with superstars,
And all the tears on her guitar ”

When I first read this, I immediately assumed it was about Taylor Swift since she often plays the guitar at her concerts—but fans dug even deeper. That lyric is actually a direct reference to Taylor’s song “Teardrops on My Guitar.”

I normally don’t talk about other people in my articles because it can get too distracting from the main topic. However, I came across comments saying that Taylor clapped back by writing a song about him. I thought I was going to read about how bad he was as a boyfriend, but when I looked into the song, it actually talks about his girlfriend, Camilla. We’re only going to focus on the parts that clearly point to their relationship.

“The story starts when it was hot and it was summer
And, I had it all I had him right there where I wanted him”
Joe and Taylor dated from July to October 2009, starting their relationship over the summer. I couldn’t find many photos of them together, other than when she appeared at their concerts or was seen walking with them at public events. I was surprised that their relationship was mostly private, considering Taylor often showcases who she’s dating—like Joe Alwyn, Matty Healy, and her current fiancé, Travis Kelce. My theory is that the relationships that began as PR arrangements (whether or not they developed into real feelings) are the ones she puts out there publicly, while the ones that weren’t contract-based are less calculated or planned.
“ She came along, got him alone, and let’s hear the applause
She took him faster than you could say sabotage”

Joe and Camilla met on the set of the Lovebug music video, which was filmed in September of that year—around the same time they reportedly started dating. I’ve always said that most, if not all, relationships in Hollywood involve cheating, and this is an example of how it happens: in plain sight. Even if Camilla pursued him, I doubt Joe was entirely innocent; Demi Lovato did say he was a player and that he messed around while things were starting between them.
However, Joe has claimed that there was no cheating involved. Still, when it comes to his faithfulness in relationships, his credibility took a hit. Demi Lovato sang about him “messing with other girls” while she thought they had something real, and Taylor Swift wrote about how Camilla “stole” Joe. Even if he was faithful, he still had the tendency to flaunt his new relationships in front of his exes—whether it was Taylor with Camilla, or later, Demi with Ashley.
Camilla never commented on the timeline, but I read that once she and Joe got together, her Hollywood career was never quite the same. She continued acting here and there, but it’s said that Taylor’s influence made it harder for her to get new opportunities.
“She’s not a saint and she’s not what you think
She’s an actress, whoa”

Yes, you guessed it, Camilla Belle is an actress.
(Original Version)
“ She’s better known for the things that she does
On the mattress, whoa”
(Taylor’s Version)
“ He was a moth to the flame,
She was holding the matches, woah”
Side note: I wish Taylor hadn’t changed the original version of her song because I felt like that version was more real and raw with her emotions. I mean, if a girl seduced your man, how do you think it went down? The new version is different, but I wish it hadn’t been made so vague. Listen to both versions and let me know which one you prefer. What do you think—do you like the change or not?
“ Oh they didn’t teach you that in prep school
So it’s up to me
But no amount of vintage dresses gives you dignity
(Think about what you did) “
Option 1
Option 2

I had a lot of thoughts about this part. Well, Camilla did wear vintage dresses—not all the time, but she did favor old-school styles. This made it more evident that the song was about her. I read on Reddit that this section sounds like projection because Taylor tried to maintain her “good girl” image for as long as she could—until it no longer benefited her.
I also read that many fans think Taylor shouldn’t have ruined Camilla’s career. However, we’ve seen plenty of male public figures get canceled or nearly have their careers destroyed over cheating scandals. Do you think there’s a double standard here? Personally, I’m never okay with cheating, whether it involves a man or a woman. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic.
After all the drama and rumors that Joe cheated on Taylor with Camilla, Joe and Camilla broke up and decided to respond on his MySpace. I found it interesting that, on his MySpace blog, he claimed he never cheated on anyone—because nowadays, celebrities typically don’t respond to infidelity rumors. Their silence could mean they don’t want to feed the conversation (since it won’t go away), or it could be an omission of the truth.
At first, I couldn’t find anything on MySpace, but I did manage to find what he wrote, and articles summarizing it are still available. I’ve decided to break it down sentence by sentence.

- “I never cheated on a girlfriend”: It sounds like he is saying he wouldn’t cheat on any girlfriend. However, he never explicitly said he never cheated on anyone he was in a relationship with. This could mean that when he was with Taylor, it wasn’t official or exclusive. Keep in mind, they were together for only three months, so they may have been talking or hadn’t made it official yet.
- “It might make someone feel better to assume or imply I have been unfaithful, but it is simply not true.” Without breaking this down, it sounds like he’s trying to make us feel bad for accusing him. This shifts the blame onto the accusers, implying they are making up lies to feel better about themselves. It reads as if Joe is positioning himself as the victim while accusing the audience of emotional projection.
- “Maybe there were reasons for a breakup. Maybe the heart moved on. Perhaps feelings have changed.” Here, he wants to make it clear that he didn’t cheat, but something caused the breakup. When he says “my heart moved on,” it could suggest emotional cheating. Translation: “I might have left my ex-girlfriend for someone else, but I didn’t cheat on her.
- “I am truly saddened that anything would potentially cause you to think less of me.” This is meant to make the audience feel guilty for thinking he would cheat, criticizing them for even questioning him.

This is interesting because you can’t find this story on Us Weekly. Hmmm… something tells me they got caught and tried to hide the story as much as possible. Why are their beach trips so hard to find? Google Images mostly shows only one hangout that was obviously staged. Something tells me we weren’t supposed to see these compromising photos. I could only find them on less popular sites.
I wonder if these photos are what made the public question Joe’s credibility. If there was nothing to hide, why were they taken down? After everything I’ve discussed, what could you conclude from all this information? According to this post, Camilla was in a relationship, which makes this story even more scandalous than most people realize.

What surprises me most about all of this is that years later, when Taylor was exposed on a call with Kanye West via Kim Kardashian’s Snapchat story, Camilla threw some shade in the midst of the scandal. What are your thoughts on this?

I had more for this article, but it’s already gone on so long—which sucks, because I was so excited to tell the full story. Oh well, good things come to those who wait. The reason it took longer than expected to get this story out is that I found more information than anticipated. I’ve also been feeling sick, which is why I was more concise in some parts. Regardless, I’m incredibly grateful for all the support I’ve been receiving—it motivates me to keep doing what I love. I wish you all a lovely day—stay safe. Bye, Beauts! 💖
